An output device is any device used to send data from another device or users. Most computer data output is for humans Thus, Most of the outputs Examples include monitors, projectors, headphones, Speakers, LCD,  and printers

1. Monitor

The monitor is also called Visual Display Device (VDC). The monitor shows the result of the CPU as a soft copy. The picture on the monitor consist of small dots. These points are also known as Pixels. Clarity of an image depends on three facts

(i) Resolution of Screen
(ii) Dot pitch
(iii) Refresh rate

The following are some of the major monitors in use:

(i) Cathode Ray Tube (CRT)

(ii) Liquid Crystal Display - LCD

(v) Thin Film Transistor - TFT

In TFT one to four transistors are used to control a pixel. These transistors make the screen much faster, shiny and more colorful than passive matrix. TFT is a cost-effective, but very good quality picture display display device than other monitors.

2. Printers

Printers is a type of output device. Use it to print data and information from the computer on any paper. It can print color and document along with black and white. The speed of a printer is measured in Character Per Second - CPS, in lines per minute (LPM) and in pages per minute (PPM). The quality of a printer is measured in Dots per Inch -DPI.
Printer is divided into two parts-

(i) Impact Printer
(ii) Non-Impact Printer

(i) Impact Printer

This printer works like a typewriter. It contains small pins or hammers to print letters. The letters are made on these pins. These pins hit the ribbon (Ribbon) attached to the ink and then on the paper, from which the letters are printed on paper. Impact Printer can print an extra character or a line at a time. These printers are cheap in comparison to other printers and do more during printing, so they are less used.
There are three types of impact prints -

(a) Dot Matrix Printers

Dot matrix printers have a line of pins that strike the ribbon at the top end of the lobe. When the pin strikes on the ribbon, a group of dots takes place on the paper as a matriculation, Pictures are printed. This type of printer is also called Pin Printer. Dot Matrix Printer prints the same character at a time.

(b) Daisy Wheel Printers

The character of a character in Daisy Wheel Printers is like typewriter. This dot prints prints more than the matrix printer and its output is more reliable than the dot matrix printer.

(c) Line printers

 Through this type of printer, there is a whole line printed at a time.

(d) Drum Printers

These are the types of line printers, in which a cylindrical drum constantly rotates. The characters in this drum are embossed. There is a ribbon attached to an ink between the drum and the paper. At the place where the letter is to be printed, hammer pauses on the ribbon as well as paper. With strikes on the ribbon, Ribbon puts pressure on the letter in the drum, so that the letter is printed on paper.

(ii) Non-Impact Printer

These printers do not hit the paper, but instead of printing the letter or picture, the ink spray leaves on the paper. Non-impact prints use electrostatic chemical and inkjet technology in prunting.
Non-impact prints are of the following types:

(a) Inkjet Printer

The Inkjet Printer is printed by inserting small points by the ink on the paper. The speed of printing is 1 to 4 pages per minute. Their printing quality is also good. They can print letters and pictures through different types of colors. . These printers use A4 size paper for printing.

(b) Thermal Printers

It uses heat to print letters on paper. Melt the ink by heat, leave it on the paper, so that the letters or pictures are printed. The fax machine is also a type of thermal printer.

(c) Laser Printer

Letters and images of high quality are printed by Laser Printer. These can print different letter characters with the help of laser rays.

(d) Electro Magnetic Printer

 Electro Magnetic Printer or Electro Photographic Printer printing at very fast speed. These printers come in the category of Page Printer (which print entire page at a time). These printers can print 20000 lines within a minute in a document, i.e. print at 250 pages per minute. It was developed through paper copier technology.

(e) Electra Static Printer

 This printer is usually used for printing large format. It is mostly used in large printing presses, because their speed is very fast and the cost of printing is reduced.

3. Plotter

Plotter is an output device that can be used for large drawings such as construction plans, blue print of mechanical objects, AUTO CAD, CAD / CAM etc. In order to create drawing, pen, pencil, marker etc. Writing tools Is used. Plotters are mainly of two types-

(i) Flat Bed Plotter
(ii) Drum Plotter

4. Head Phones

This device can be worn like a belt on the head, so that both speakers come over the ears of a human. Therefore its voice can only hear the person wearing it. Mike is also attached to any head phone, which can be heard along with listening. This device is often used by telephone operators, call center operators, commentators. It is also known as stereo phone or head set.

5. Speaker

This is a type of output device, which tells the output from the computer as a voice. It receives the data from the computer in the form of an electric current.

6. Projector

Use this device to view information or data received from the computer on a large screen. With this help, a lot of people can sit in a group and see the results at one time. It is used in places like class rooms, training or a large conference hall with a large number of spectators.
