यह मेमोरी चिप की तरह होती है, जो मैटल ऑक्साइड सेमीकण्डक्टर (MOS) से बनी होती है। इसे संक्षेप में रैम (RAM) कहा जाता है। रैम में उपस्थित सभी सूचनाएँ अस्थाई होती हैं और जैसे ही कम्प्यूटर की विद्युत सप्लाई बन्द कर दी जाती है, वैसे ही समस्त सूचनाएँ नष्ट हो जाती हैं अर्थात् रैम एक वॉलेटाइल (Volatile) मेमोरी है। रैम का उपयोग डेटा को स्टोर करने तथा उसमें (मेमोरी मे) उपस्थित डेटा को पढ़ने के लिए किया जाता है।

Definition Of Ram In English 

It is like a memory chip, made of metal oxide semiconductor (MOS). This is abbreviated as RAM (RAM). All the information in RAM is temporary and as soon as the power supply of the computer is turned off, all the information is destroyed ie. RAM is a volatile memory. RAM is used to store data and read the data contained in it (in memory).

In this computer memory, data and instructions are stored in cells. Each cell is made up of some rows and columns, which has its own unique address. This unique address is also called Cell Path.


CPU's can receive different data from these Cells. And that too without sequence means the data available in RAM can be randomly accessed. Probably due to this feature, this memory is named Random Access Memory.


RAM is a volatile memory. Therefore, Store Data does not remain in this store forever. As long as the power supply is on RAM. Till then the data remains. When the computer is shut down, all the data of RAM is automatically dumped.

There are two types of RAM-रैम दो प्रकार की होती है-


(1) डायनैमिक रैम (Dynamic RAM): इसे डी रैम (DRAM) भी कहते हैं। डी रैम चिप केस्टोरेज सेल परिपथों (Circuits) में एक ट्रांजिस्टर और एक कैपेसिटर लगे होते है। 
डी रैम को बार-बार रिफ्रेश (Refresh) किया जाता है, जिसके कारण इसकी गति धीमी हो जाती है। इस प्रकार डायनैमिक रैम चिप ऐसी मेमोरी की सुविधा देता है, जिसकी सूचना बिजली बन्द करने पर नष्ट हो जाती है। 


(2) स्टैटिक रैम (Static RAM): इसे एस रैम (SRAM) भी कहते हैं। इसमें डेटा तब तक संचित रहता है जब तक वियुत सप्लाई ऑन (ON) रहती है। स्टैटिक रैम मेंस्टोरेजसेल परिपथों में एक से अधिक ट्रांजिस्टर लगे होते हैं।

There are two types of RAM



(1) Dynamic RAM: It is also known as D RAM. D RAM chip circuit cell circuits consist of a transistor and a capacitor.
D RAM is refreshed repeatedly, due to which its speed slows down. In this way the dynamic RAM chip provides such memory, whose information is lost when power is turned off.

(2) Static RAM: It is also known as S RAM. In this, the data is stored as long as the power supply is ON (ON). Static RAM main store cell circuits have more than one transistor.
